Great Day at Brooklands
Great atmosphere at Brooklands. You can feel the history of the development of cars, planes, and bikes as you go from each workshop, exhibition, hangar, and outdoor aircraft park. The Clubhouse has reconstructions of the Racecourse Clerks offices, Barbara Cartland room and the Sunbeam Cafe where we had a lovely lunch. The Motoring Village has great exhibitions of the beginning of motoring as well as "The Fastest on Earth: Racing Legends of Brooklands". Fantastic range of motor vehicles on display and the whole experience was enhanced by the informative staff who were happy to share stories and their knowledge. Such a thrill to see the historic race track and banking. The London Bus Museum was another well presented exhibition. Brooklands was the birthplace of British motorsport and has become a fabuous museum and a great day out.
