Afternoon Tea in Beautiful Surrounds
Afternoon Tea with Bubbles at The East Sussex National Hotel is such a treat. Staff friendly and efficient. Beautiful surroundings. Public footpaths to walk it off! Maps available at Reception desk. This was a return visit. Highly recommended.

A lovely way to spend an afternoon.
We had vouchers for afternoon tea at the East Sussex National. We were running late, but called ahead to let them know, and it was no problem at all. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, we felt welcome and comfortable. The grounds are stunning! There was more than enough food, which was fresh and delicious. The staff kindly provided us with boxes to take the left overs away with us. The tea was especially nice. Thank you!

Sparkling afternoon tea
The staff at the East Sussex National (10/10) were friendly and welcoming. We are particularly grateful to them because they accepted a telephone booking for the same afternoon when we were refused service with our voucher elsewhere (another Red Letter Days listed establishment with whom we had made an advance booking; hence this review is only rated 9/10).
The setting was spotlessly clean with lovely views over the Sussex countryside. We chose to eat inside; there was also the option to sit on the terrace or the lawn. Dietary requirements were taken and our afternoon tea was promptly served. The range of sandwiches was good; the scones were light, fresh and warm; and the cakes delicious.
