Afternoon Tea for Two at Brooklands Hotel

We had a great time had full attention from the moment we arrived. Food was excellent even though my husband has diabetes catered for him very well. Highly recommended

Having enjoyed an excellent 'Experience' Afternoon Tea at the Castle Hotel Windsor, we had high expectations. However these were not met. The tea was served in a glass-room at the front of the hotel. It was more like a cafe than a tea-room. There was very annoying background music playing all the time. The gluten-free scones were hard and dry. No cake forks were provided for eating very gooey cakes. Milk was already on the table when we arrived and we had no idea how long it had been sitting there. Black serviettes were most unsuitable for afternnon tea. It was hard to catch the serving staff's attention when you needed something. We had to ask the staff to record our number-plate and we hope no parking bill arrives in the post. The barstaff that we checked in with never mentioned the need to register your number plate so it's lucky we noticed the sign in the car park. The location of this hotel was really not very suitable for pairing with a day at Wisley which does do Afternoon Tea on site and would be a much better location. We did appreciate being told at the outset that 'doggy-boxes' were available and we did make use of them.

Certainly not worth the price. Had far better in garden centres. Dry scones, boring uninspiring cakes. Very small portions of jam & cream. Venue for afternoon tea is very basic, we were expecting somewhere more luxurious. Wouldn’t recommend.
